Offaly Angling Centres

BREAM and quality roach are a main feature of fishing on the Middle Shannon. There are also great pike, specimen tench, hard fighting hybrids and an increasing number of large perch. There is nowhere better in the County than the early permanent pegs in Banagher Town because this stretch of the Shannon produces bream to 7lb, quality roach and hybrids. Another prolific fishery is the backwaters at Meelick, quiet lakes where corn, caster and worms will tempt huge tench and bream.

There are 13 miles of the fish-filled River Shannon running between the village of Shannonbridge and Banagher Town and every foot of it is loaded with bream, tench, roach, hybrids and pike.
